brief circles break the surface
of black water
rain drops delicately descend
rippling into infinity
then disappear
like time
clouds separate
in sensuous recess
sudden sunshine speckles
black water turning brown
is a lovely light refraction
a white breeze blows downstream
but buds still burst brilliantly
from exploding green pods
and
all is reflected in murky mirrors
in sixty seconds
clouds close in again
and seal this day
brown back to black
and green to gray
